Kruti & Agentic AI: Ola Krutrim’s Bet on Multilingual Intelligence

October 14, 2025

Ola’s Krutrim AI initiative has introduced its newest evolution—Kruti, an agentic AI assistant designed to perform autonomous digital tasks while communicating in 10 Indian languages. This innovation could redefine how Indians interact with technology.

Unlike traditional chatbots, Kruti can perform actions—booking tickets, drafting legal documents, or managing emails—without constant human input. It combines large language models (LLMs) with agentic frameworks that allow the AI to make limited decisions based on user intent.

Kruti’s linguistic capabilities are its standout feature. With support for Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, and more, it represents the largest multilingual AI project in India’s private sector. Ola’s founder Bhavish Aggarwal sees it as the foundation for an AI-driven ecosystem built around India’s linguistic diversity.

In a country where over a billion people access the internet in regional languages, Kruti’s potential reach is immense. Early users report better contextual understanding than global models like ChatGPT or Gemini when responding to culturally specific prompts.

India’s AI market is expanding rapidly, and Krutrim’s innovations could position the country as a leader in developing localized, agentic AI tools that speak—and think—like the people they serve.
