Goldi Solar said on Oct. 29 it raised $171 million in a financing round led by Havells and other strategic investors to expand module manufacturing and domestic rooftop installations. The funding marks one of the larger clean-energy growth investments in India this year and arrives as the country pushes to increase renewable capacity and local manufacturing.
Company sources said the capital will go towards brownfield expansion of module lines, supply-chain upgrades to improve panel efficiency, and deployment partnerships with local distributors focused on residential and small commercial rooftops. Industry observers noted that larger, India‑focused rounds signal investor confidence in the country’s policy push for domestic value‑addition in clean energy.
While the renewable sector has been drawing capital globally, the new injection also highlights an ongoing shift: investors are placing bigger bets on companies that can combine manufacturing scale with rapid local deployment — a model that reduces import exposure and supports national energy goals.
