Kenya Expands Agrotech Hubs to Support Small Farmers

October 29, 2025

Kenya’s Ministry of Agriculture opened three new agrotech hubs across Nakuru, Eldoret, and Kisumu aimed at connecting small farmers to mechanisation solutions and mobile-based crop analytics.

Local startups are collaborating with universities to create open platforms for real-time soil data and climate forecasting. The initiative reflects a growing trend across Africa, where digital tools are replacing traditional extension models.

Experts believe the integration of tech in smallholder systems could increase yields by 15–20% over the next three years.
